Website Categories in EGR Awards
The 2010 EGR Operator Awards are barely three weeks away and two more categories have been added. These are for the Best Website Performance and the Best Mobile Performance. These categories will not be judged by the regular jury but by the website performance monitoring firm Gomez. The web sites of the online and mobile gaming operators short listed for the other awards will compete for these two categories.
For the website award, Gomez's European network of real-user desktops will test for both performance and availability. The web sites will be assessed against different ISPs from across four major European countries. The mobile gaming operators will be tested against both android and iPhone devices across Vodafone and O2 networks. David Flower, Vice President for Gomez EMEA, said, "Gomez is delighted to be involved with the launch of these two new categories at this year's EGR Operator Awards. We are very much looking forward to the Awards, and celebrating the winners' achievements." He pointed out that through their network of real-users, Gomez will be able to gain a realistic understanding of user interaction, and thereafter recognize and reward those websites and mobile gaming platforms that offer excellent customer experience.
Meanwhile the short listed names in the four affiliate categories have been released. RakeTheRake and SportyTrader have been short listed in three of the categories. PokerStrategy.com, Digital Prophets and Little Star Media are affiliates that figure in two categories. These categories recognize and reward the contribution affiliates have made to the online gaming industry as well as celebrating excellence and innovation in affiliate lead generation. The categories cover gaming community site of the year; gaming review site of the year; gaming comparison site of the year and innovative gaming site of the year.
